The right Dog Steps for your car and your dog.

The vehicle comes first. Then we consider the width, mounting position and the way your dog will approach the steps.

56 cm or 86 cm?

The 56 cm system can be positioned left, centrally or right, where the vehicle permits. It leaves a different arrangement of usable space in the boot. On vehicles recorded as 56 cm only, the configurator offers that width alone.

The 86 cm system mounts centrally and needs a boot opening of at least 900 mm. We generally recommend considering it for a larger dog, more than one dog or a taller vehicle, subject to the boot opening and fit review.

An opening measurement alone does not confirm the whole installation. The frame, lashing points, door clearance and other boot equipment also need checking.

Compare the two widths

A larger or older dog.

Dog Steps support a dog weighing up to 70 kg. Weight capacity is one check; it does not tell you whether a dog can comfortably use the steps. Consider stride, balance, first-step height and confidence as well.

The first-step height is approximately 29 or 35 cm, depending on the setup. If your dog has limited mobility, discuss that movement with your vet or canine physiotherapist before choosing an access product.

Anti-slip mats are an optional addition. We can discuss the surface and introduction to the steps when specifying your system.

What stays in the boot?

The complete system weighs approximately 12 kg. Folded thickness is under 20 cm. The frame secures to existing boot lashing points, with no drilling or permanent change to the vehicle.

The system is removable without tools, normally in a couple of minutes. Plan the available loadspace with the steps folded, your dog's travelling area and any luggage or crate together.

Make, model and year matter.

Select the exact vehicle in the configurator. A Range Rover Sport, a full-size Range Rover and a Defender do not share one fitment decision. Some vehicles need a Pull-Out System; others need a manual review before ordering.

For Defenders, handle side is a separate choice from mounting position. Left and right are described from behind the vehicle, looking into the boot.

From configuration to delivery.

Your configured product price includes VAT and the vehicle-specific mounting system. UK delivery is shown separately on the product page and at checkout. We review the fit before manufacture, including a photograph of the boot opening.

Dog Steps production takes approximately 4 weeks from confirmation of the fit. We confirm the build and delivery dates once that review is complete.

Read the fit promise, warranty and returns terms before ordering. If you would like to see a system before deciding, ask the UK team about the available demonstration options.

Let us check your vehicle.

Tell us the make, model and year, and show us the boot opening. We will help specify the right system and review the fit before manufacture.
